The UKiBA (UK Intermediate Behaviour Analyst) is an intermediate-level certification in behaviour analysis and is the second-highest level of certification offered by the UK-SBA. Practitioners with a UKiBA have the following:

  • An approved qualification in behaviour analysis or positive behaviour support at Level 5 or above. A full list of UK-SBA approved course programmes can be found here.
  • Ongoing clinical supervision by a UKBA(cert).
  • Completion of the UKiBA Supervision and Competence Standards within the first two years of certification as a UKiBA.

Safety to Practise

All UK-SBA registrants must demonstrate Safety to Practise items. You must hold and provide evidence for each of the following:

  • Current liability insurance covering your behaviour analytic practise (must be issued by a UK provider).
  • A criminal records disclosure issued by a UK Government body (must be issued within 3 years of your current UK-SBA member registration date).
  • Safeguarding Training relevant to the population with which you are working (must be delivered by a UK organisation and must have been completed within 3 years of your current UK-SBA member registration date).

Evidence for each of the Safety to Practise items will be required as part of the registration process. You will not be able to register as a UKBA(cert) without this evidence.

    All Members must answer all the following questions. Any practitioner who is working or seeking employment MUST hold insurance (either as part of their employment contract with their employer OR independent insurance). Any practitioner who is working with vulnerable populations MUST hold a current disclosure and safeguarding training for the population they work with. You MUST upload evidence of your Disclosure, Safeguarding and Current Insurance to your account if you want to appear as searchable as available for work and/or offering supervision. You MUST upload your supporting evidence at the end of this registration form.

    Student members should answer No to Offering Supervision and Available for Work as Student members do not appear on the searchable register. These questions are therefore not relevant to Student members.

    • Professional Qualifications such as BCBA/BCaBA/CABAS/RBT -certificant number required for all, you may supply your cerificate. If you are searchable for work you MUST provide your DBS certificate, Insurance Certificate, CPD Certificates letters of reference etc
