Anyone who is actively involved in behaviour analysis in the UK is encouraged to join the Society. Membership Categories are based on an individual’s training and qualification in behaviour analysis. We have four levels of membership:

The transfer route to the UKBA(cert) closed on 19th December 2025.
All new routes to the UKBA(cert) are now open.
Those holding an active BCBA will be able to join as a UKBA(cert) under Route E.

All members agree to abide by the UK-SBA Code of Ethical and Professional Conduct and
the UK-SBA Complaints Procedure.
Behaviour analytic practitioners must hold appropriate current insurance cover for the role they hold or are seeking. If they are working with or seeking to work with children and /or vulnerable adults they must hold a current Disclosure, i.e. a DBS for England and Wales, an Access NI for Northern Ireland or a Disclosure Scotland and have an up-to-date record of Safeguarding training.
All UK-SBA members, with the exception of Student members, must appear on the UK-SBA Register.

Membership Benefits
The UK-SBA offers a range of benefits to members depending on membership category.
Members are able to post their details (qualifications, experience, special fields etc.) on the UK-SBA Register and, if they choose to be, are searchable for work on the Register (students are an exception).
Once approved, members can access and download their membership badge. Members can use their membership badge on their signature, email and marketing materials to show they are UK-SBA registered.

All members receive reduced fees on UK-SBA, EABG (Experimental Analysis of Behaviour Group) and EABA (European Association for Behaviour Analysis) and conference and training events, access to the UK-SBA Job Board and access to “Members Only” areas of the website.
All members have full access to view the UK-SBA Job Board.

Membership Renewals
Membership dues must be renewed yearly to remain an active member of the Society. For full guidance of how to renew your existing UK-SBA membership please go to our Membership Renewals page.

Membership Refusal Appeals
If you apply for membership and the UK-SBA deem your application does not meet the membership criteria we will of course contact you and explain why you have not met the necessary requirements and refund you in full. If you want to appeal this decision you can of course contact us by emailing us at [email protected].
