In UKAB, the Secretariat is responsible for administering the accreditation process, coordinating the technical committees associated with the accreditation program and the development of new accreditation program.

UKAB is a legally registered entity within the United Kingdom but is not authorized by the UK Government and so encouragement, support, approval or license of any Department of State of the Government of the United Kingdom or of the European Commission or any other statutory or government office of any nation or state should not be inferred.

UKAB is an independent service provider offering registration services outside the scope of EU Regulation 765/08.
